Fathom the colour

10 Variations of the Etchings " Plumb the colour" Video by Anette Aßmann

The colour is plumbed and takes shape in the weaver's hand. In the second etching of the portfolio "Das Blaue vom Himmel" (The Blue of Heaven), one can walk through the spine of an upright book and enter a secret garden. Vibrations are picked up by auricles and the listener juggles with the tones as I do with the hues. "There is one who weaves and weaves; he sits on the height of the highest mountain under a tree as old as the mountain, and he weaves. But he weaves into a stone, and the stone bends in the weaver's hand, becomes form, colour and shape, then sinks down and lies on the ground beside many like it."

I am grateful to Dr. Stefan Soltek for his speech about the intensity of my work at the artist book launch at the Klingspor Museum on 10 September. He will also talk to my exhibition in the Erich Martin Raum / Graphische Sammlung in the Haus der Stadtgeschichte Offenbach in the 1st half of 2024. The preparation and follow-up of my projects haunts me into the nights "Day and Night - Once the unconscious will come to light". I just scooped the mud out of the tub in which four 1 m wide reliefs were etched and our summer trip to the Cévennes inspired me to create new coloured water jet drawings.
